I got this on my 22nd birthday as a reminder to keep writing.

I think that in all of the subtleties of writing, punctuation is one of the big influential forces, and every element that someone puts down on a page, or uploads to the internet, or whatever, has its place, because the writer had some purpose to it. A period instead of a comma means something. A semicolon means something. An ellipsis means something. So I got a collection of punctuation marks on the side of my arm in a place so I can always see them when I’m writing as a reminder to always study how a comma could make or break my message and to always keep working at it.
