my brother died over a year ago. he’s only a year older than me. so we’ve always been extremely close. about four months after he died, i was having the hardest time falling asleep. i have terrible insomnia and i get nightmares. so i didn’t want to sleep, on top of being tired. i usually listen to calm music or put the tv on. but nothing was helping me. my music was on shuffle, and paramores song misguided ghosts came on. from the moment it came on, i felt something lifted off my shoulders. like, i didn’t have to be scared to sleep anymore. all the lyrics to this song helped me. because it made me think about my life. because when we’re younger, we seem invincible. and everything is okay. but as we get older, things happen. people die, people leave your life. and you follow certain paths. and before my brother died, i was just a misguided ghost, traveling on the wrong path. but now he’s pushing me home<3

so in honor of both paramore and my brother. i got this tattooed on my right shoulder.

i know it’s simple, but it means the world to me.
